Happy Holidays!

Well, it's time for the holiday season to hit us head on, and I want to wish all our OFCU members out there HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

This time of year reminds me of when I was young. My older brother told me that at midnight on Christmas eve, all the animals would talk. I would try so hard to stay up until midnight, but inevitably I would always fall asleep. The next morning I would wake up and he would tell me about all the things our dog, Dottie, told him. It seemed like a year was an eternity to wait to see if I could make myself stay up until midnight again to see my dog talk. I quickly got over the disappointment when I got my Nerf football that morning.

One of the other things this time of year reminds me of, is the ending of the NFL season. The playoffs are getting ready to start, and the games become so much more important. I can remember games back in the early 70's that had me glued to the set. The "immaculate reception" game between Oakland and Pittsburgh, the "Hail Mary" game between Dallas and Minnesota, the perfect season Miami had in 1972. I can also remember my team, the Houston Oilers, going 1-13 for what seemed like 5 years in a row. Not really, just seemed like it.

The best part of the season, though, is being able to spend time with your friends and family. Sometimes during the year we take the ones close to us for granted. This is the time of year where we can show them how much we appreciate them. Don't let this season go by without telling the important people in your life how much they mean to you.

Best wishes to all,

Greg
