I'm sorry for the long hiatus, but I was in California for two weeks attending the Western CUNA Management School. I returned to work on the 28th, but it took me a full week to sift through my e-mail and voice mail.
Now, for current happenings in the credit union, here we go.
Saturday, August 9th, 6:00pm is OFCU's 55th Annual Meeting at the Sgt. Willie Estrada Memorial Civic Center in Alamogordo. Join us for dinner, our annual business meeting and some great door prizes, the Grand Prize being $500.00 cash!
Also, the 1% cash back loan promotion continues through August. This is the continuing saga of giving our members up to $200 cash back for all the non-OFCU loans they bring to us. It's an epic story that continues to save our members on their monthly loan payments as well as puts a little cash in their pockets.
On Saturday, August 16th, OFCU staff members will be working the ticket booth at the Otero County Fair. Stop by and say hello to some of your favorite OFCU employees.
In August, OFCU will also be a major sponsor in the Holloman AFB Big Give competition. OFCU will be awarding the 2nd prize of $500.00.
Saturday, September 6th in Roswell, OFCU will be hosting the OFCU/Character Counts! Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Spring River Golf Course in Roswell, NM. We are still looking for hole sponsors for this event. If interested please call Greg Shaver at 575-443-7070. All proceeds will go to scholarships for Chaves county Character Counts! participants. If you are interested in playing in the tournament, call the Spring River Pro Shop at 575-622-9506.
Also in September, OFCU will be a top sponsor for the Thanks Team Holloman event out at Holloman AFB. This event is a way for the community to say "Thanks" to all the local military who defend this great country we live in.
I wanted to also invite our members to email me any photos they have of the local area. I post photos on our webpage that come from the 4 county region (Otero, Lincoln, Chaves, and Eddy) that OFCU serves. If you have any unique photos, please email them to me at gshaver@oterofcu.org.
Well, it's great to be back, and although I enjoyed the learning experience of the CUNA Management School in California, nothing beats sleeping in your own bed!
