
Wow, it looks like we're finally having a real winter this year. I've lived in Ruidoso for11 years and this is by far the coldest winter yet. As the old-timers are saying: "this is how it was every year", and according to weather patterns and history, I'm guessing they're correct.
It makes it real tough to work on your golf game in this weather. As difficult as it can be sometimes, it really is something we need, especially the moisture. It should make for a green spring and summer, and hopefully a little less wind as well. The wind issue is the one thing that really bothers me. I would take a cold winter every year if it meant less wind in the spring. I don't know that the two go hand in hand, but if they did, they've got my vote. Some say it's the El Nino effect, if that is true, then I'm all for it. Regardless, if you're into skiing, this will be a good year for you!
