It's that time of the year again. Time to dress up in your favorite costume and hopefully get plenty of treats, not tricks. Personally, due to the candy factor, this was always one of my favorite days of the year. I loved getting all the chocolate I could get my hands on. I would coast for almost 3 weeks with the haul I got from Halloween. My goal was to make it to Thanksgiving, and then start with pumpkin and pecan pie, which would hold me over to Christmas. Now that I am older, this is the time of year where I usually gain 10 pounds or so. Going to the gym doesn't help anymore. The barrage of calories is unstoppable. Just grin and bear it.
The best costume I ever wore was that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Lately, I've been trying to get my kids to dress as a Crayon. They won't have any of that. I'm going to try and get my granddaughter to dress as a bumblebee. She's tiny, so she would be an extremely cute bumblebee. I always wanted to wear a costume that allowed me to wear the little beanie cap with the propeller on top. I thought that was the coolest thing going when I was young. Nowadays it's great to see all the neat costumes they come up with. Last year I saw a kid with no head on top of his neck, he was holding it in his hands.
This year I hope everyone has a safe and happy Halloween. It's a day for children, but adults enjoy it almost as much as the youngsters.
