Sorry it's been so long since I last blogged, I was in California for two weeks for the Western CUNA Management School. Always exciting to get home from California, and back into the real world.
One thing that I was able to do while out there, was to visit Disneyland. In order to get my money's worth, we arrived at 8 am and left at midnight. Yes, that's right, 16 hours of Disney fun. The last time I was able to visit Disney was when I was 7 years old. All I remember from that visit was the haunted house, and the little cars that you can drive around in. Needless to say, Disneyland has changed quite a bit since then (I'm 44 years old now). There were some incredibly cool rides that I was able to enjoy. My favorite was soaring over California. This ride is where you're sitting down and the screen in front of you makes it appear you're flying over famous sites in California. It really is incredible when you realize you're not moving at all. My stomach would get queazy with all the "flying" we were doing. The other ride that was wild was the Tower of Terror ride. This is the Twilight Zone ride where they simulate an elevator dropping in the darkness. The anxiety they can produce from the anticipation of when you will fall is intense. Luckily the ride is only about 30 seconds long, but believe me, it doesn't need to last any longer! There were many other neat rides, and overall I had a blast. But let me suggest you don't try to stay at Disney for 16 hours unless you have some really comfortable shoes.
All in all it's good to be back, the traffic in California is HORRIBLE, even during these difficult times, it appears no one has given up on their driving habits. Now it's time to catch up on my work, only 357 emails and 19 voice mails were awaiting me!
