How many times have you heard that line the last couple of months? Only five more days and the 2008 elections will be over!

I think the only people who like election time are the newspaper, radio, and television stations. They get all the advertising dollars they could ever want. What bothers me about all the ads is sometimes you don't even know who the ad is for, just who it's against. It's great to tell me how bad your opponents plan is, but if you don't tell me what your plan is, how do I know that it's not equally bad. Maybe I'm just getting more cynical in my old age, but it seems the negative campaigning hit an all-time high this year. It could very well be that the quality of candidates hit an all-time low this year as well. I'm sure there are some very good candidates out there that are well qualified, but please, let me know what your plans are, don't just rag on your opponent.

No matter who you support, make sure you get out and vote. Like my father always told me, "you have an inherent right to gripe about things if you vote."
